I hooked this art piece from our Rosy on the Screen Door pattern. Every summer here in Maine I am greeted at least one morning by one of these beautiful moths lingering on the screen doors here at the Parris House.

This piece is made from wools I hand dyed to match the colors of the Rosy Maple moth, with Indian sari silk woven is for additional texture within the moth s wings, the background, and as the hand whip stitched binding. Amethyst beads and pink glass beads are hand sewn on to the piece as well for a little extra light catching. The antennae are roving stuffed applique with embroidered fly stitching on top.

This would be a wonderful addition to many decor styles, especially for those with a love of nature.
